Dr. Matta is a member of the Steward Health Care Team and is proud to serve the patients previously under the care of Dr. Swati Chokalingam. Dr. Matta's primary concern is to provide thorough and complete patient care in all aspects of Women's Health. The key aspects of her care include; efficiency and providing accessible, comfortable, and approachable care for all her patients.
Dr. Matta attended a competitive six year medical program at The University of Missouri-Kansas City. This was a combined bachelor's and graduate medical program. During medical school, she received a scholarship from the Mennonite Society and was awarded the opportunity to travel to India and provide medical care to the residents in the remote region of Madhya Pradesh. Dr. Matta's training continued during her residency at Loyola University in Chicago, IL. In addition, she completed a surgical fellowship in Celebration, FL, with a focus in Laparoscopic and Supracervical Hysterectomy techniques, as well as a fellowship in Robotic surgery at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center.
Dr. Matta's office has access to a tertiary care center, St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. This means consultative care in multiple specialties is availabe 24 hours a day. The Emergency Department is newly renovated and boasts the shortest wait time for evaluation in the immediate area. The Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit is an 18 bed, Level III unit with state-of- the-art technology and maintains the most current care options for extremely premature babies. St. Elizabeth's Medical Center also has a comprehensive Maternal- Fetal Medicine Department, which specializes in managing medical conditions that can complicate pregnancy.
Dr. Matta's practice is accepting new patients. The office staff is multilingual. Languages spoken include: Spanish, Dutch, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Toisanese. Interpreters in all other languages are available via telecommunications.
